Meet Ankit Raj Saxena, a GW Masters student!

“I attended the GW admitted students orientation event that was held in India last year. This orientation was focused on informing incoming international students about the various services offered by GW. As a result, I learned about different career opportunities and became passionate about finding the right one that fit my profile even before I started school.

Upon my arrival at GW, I learned about the importance of networking with business professionals. I, therefore, made it my duty to network with as many professionals as possible, including GW graduate students, faculty, and alumni.

In addition, I realized that it was equally important for me to work on my professional development by revising my resume and cover letters. I enlisted the help of SEAS Career Coaches (Chalvonna and Kendra), who were kind enough to not only review my documents but also mentor me on the professional skills I needed to succeed.

The International Student Career Ambassador (ISCA) program also played a substantial role in my professional success. This program provided me with peer-to-peer career advising services including a review of my resume and cover letters as well as useful information on job and internship resources available to international students.

Thanks to all these career resources available at GW, I was able to acquire a summer internship at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in their Corporate Technology Division.”
