GeoStructures is looking for students pursuing a degree in civil or geotechnical engineering who are interested in an internship for the summer of 2024! Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who is ready to put what they are learning in school to real world practice. Come work with a team of great engineers!
During the summer, you will have an opportunity to learn about the following:
- Design and construction of:
- Aggregate Piers
- Rigid Inclusions
- Ductile Iron Pipe Piles
- Micro Piles
- Support of Excavation (SOE) systems
- Design-Build project lifecycle including:
- Project lead generation
- Bid/proposal development
- Development of design calculation packages and construction drawings
- Project management through execution of construction
- Development of soft skills including industry networking, communication practices
Our Intern’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
- Prepare engineering related calculations, develop drawings and visual aids
- Perform geotechnical design and analyses under the supervision of a Professional Engineer for shallow and deep foundations, settlement, slope stability
Requirements:
- Completion of third year (junior year) in a Civil engineering program, geotechnical concentration preferred
or;
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering and currently enrolled in graduate program specializing in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Transportation to and from work each day required.
- Preference given to previous and applicable work experience.
