Summary:
Reporting to the Director of IT, this role seeks to architect and deploy network systems that will maximize performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Network systems include VOIP, QOS, LAN, WAN, VPN, NAC, DNS, DHCP, Routing and Switching, and Network Segmentation.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Own network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
- Defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand.
- Troubleshoots network issues, including user issues, and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes.
- Responsible for the Network Access Control (NAC) solution.
- Keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices.
- Ensures availability of network services (DNS, DHCP, NPS).
- Design, develop and implement disaster recovery planning, events and recovery of vital information.
- Manages vendor licensing and renewals with 3rd party vendors.
Positional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT with 5+ years of related experience, is highly preferred.
- Cisco network experience; IOS, FTD firewalls, ISE, routing and switching, Anyconnect VPN
- NTP architecture experience.
- DNS filtering solution experience such as Cisco Umbrella.
- Network Monitoring and management solutions such as WhatsUp Gold.
Preferred Credentials:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- CompTIA Security+
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
- Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
