Whether for fighter pilots functioning in the cockpit, medical staff in the ICU, or teams collaborating across distributed networks, our solutions help measure, assess, inform, and augment human performance in defense, intel, aviation, law enforcement, and healthcare.What You’ll DoAptima is seeking a summer-only (up to 40 hours a week) undergraduate student intern onsite to provide Software and Systems Engineering support. The software tools we are developing provide a variety of services within distributed training events including human performance measurement capabilities, geospatial displays, data recording and playback, data analytics, warehousing, and learning assessment.This position will be mentored by senior engineers and offers an excellent opportunity to expand your career knowledge and gain valuable experience solving complex software engineering problems while working in a leading-edge Research and Development environment. In this role, you will assist in the following areas: software development and maintenance, scripting and automation, virtualization, Infrastructure as Code, and software and system unit testing. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge Machine learning technology.Experience NeededKnowledge of some of the following: Python, JavaScript, C# and Java.Familiar with network-level programming and demonstrated knowledge of TCP/UDP.Familiar with developing scripts to automate repetitive processes.Familiar with concepts of message queuing, virtualization, and Infrastructure as Code.Understanding of software development best practices and user experiences.Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.Good communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to work well in a team environment and to learn rapidly via formal and informal training and instruction.Able to understand complex system of systems environmentsMinimum RequirementsU.S. Citizenship required or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance2 years towards a BA, BS, or equivalent in Computer Science or related degree.Working Conditions (ADA accommodations may be sought) Remote work flexibilityAll applicants selected will be subject to a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Aptima, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to non-discrimination in employment.
