General Summary: The Fall Internship is an opportunity for a young professional to gain practical experience in a Government Affairs and Public Affairs office environment in Washington, DC. Interns will research, monitor and develop analytical reports on public affairs/government affairs issues, attend Congressional hearings on Capitol Hill and perform web-based research to gather information on issues which affect the business operations and government affairs focus of Boston Scientific. Additionally, interns will gain exposure to international government affairs and the ways in which US companies can advocate for policy interests in foreign markets.
Perform web-based research on public affairs/government affairs websites
Attend Hearings and prepare short summaries
Attend meetings at associations and report back to government affairs team
Support the Federal, State, and International Government Affairs teams on projects.
Excellent communication skills – spoken and written
Capable of producing summaries of long articles and meetings
Rudimentary understanding of how the Federal Government operates
Interested in international affairs
Energetic, self-motivated, capable of self-direction
