Quality Systems Administrator
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of the company Quality Systems reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Quality Systems Administrator also shares the responsibility for system and process development and improvement initiatives. In this role the individual must be customer-focused, and results driven.
RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES:
1. Manage/administer the following processes:
· Product drawings and data sheets
· Work instructions
· Standard Operating Procedures – SOP’s
· Document updates, proofing, distribution, and notification
· Document change requests (CRs)
· Engineering Change Orders (COs)
· Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
· Return Material Authorizations (RMAs)
· Engineering project numbers
· Instrument calibration database and system
· Demo/loaner units
· Record retention and maintenance
· CAPAs
· Internal Audits
2. Work independently to perform ongoing review of quality systems and procedures in order to identify and recommend revisions to current systems and new systems.
3. Initiate and implement modifications and improvements to control documentation such as production check lists, Final Quality Control (FQC) records, operating procedures and policy manuals
4. Communicate with suppliers, as necessary, to obtain RMAs and CAPA statements
5. Maintain safe work area in a clean and orderly condition
6. Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Certifications:
Required
1. Associates in a technical or engineering discipline
2. Working knowledge/experience in ISO9001 and QMS processes
3. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
4. Internal Auditor certification or equivalent experience
5. Customer oriented attitude
Preferred
1. Opto-Mechanical degree or equivalent experience
2. Knowledge of spectroscopy principles a plus
3. Knowledge of laser applications and safety a plus
4. Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer in an office/cubical environment
2. Standing and walking on concrete and tile floors in light manufacturing environment
3. Occasional light lifting and carrying, no more than 35 pounds
