GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Summer Associate will work in the Operational Technology team and will experience first-hand the responsibilities tied to maintaining the SCADA infrastructure of EDPR’s fleet. In this role, they will learn the processes that guide our day to day activities and how we interface with our internal and external stakeholders. This is a 10-week full-time and paid internship that will start on or around June 7, 2021 Main accountabilities:Support the REMS (Renewable Energy Management System) projects through telemetry validation and control testingFamiliarize with and evaluate processes used in construction of wind/solar plants. Propose optimization based on the various stakeholders’ feedbackReview the existing OT Department record structure and based on the team’s feedback proposed and optimized structure in ProjectWise.Plant control configuration, simulation and testing using substation test panelAdditional duties may be requiredMinimum qualifications:Bachelor’s degree candidate focusing on engineering or computer scienceMust have a minimum GPA of 3.0Preferred familiarity with script-based programming language (e.g. C++, Python) Behavioral requirements:Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and eager to learnAbility to multitask in a fast-paced and collaborative working environmentPossess excellent attention to detailStrong problem-solving ability Physical demands & working conditions:Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environmentSpeech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formLifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 poundsVision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formSafety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
