Role and Scope of Position:

Works closely with management to conduct research, capture data and assist in projects as assigned.

Student will assist system engineers and supervisors with routine and special projects. These projects develop the electrical distribution system in the area work center, where there is significant engineering activity. Student will learn basic electric utility design and operations, and at the same time will help alleviate some clerical and data intensive tasks. Student will also learn the principles of good customer service and electric reliability.

Scope of Work/Project:

Under the direct supervisions of a qualified engineer, the student will compile data and assist with designs to improve the distribution system. Student will also review service outages, project layouts, circuits, underground (URD) rebuilds, and equipment inspection reports. Most work will be in office, but occasional field trips with a supervisor will be arranged. Student will also learn to develop technical presentations and project plans.

Position Requirements:

Student needs to be working toward an electrical engineering degree, and requires some technical and analytical background and experience. Software experience includes Microsoft Office Suite . Student must have transportation to the office locations.
