Works with the senior management in facilitating development, maintenance, and dynamic evolution of the Department’s strategic plan. Conducts various research projects in concert with the Planning and Research Bureau and Patrol Bureau, to include policy evaluations, best practice assessments, development, implementation, and management of the Annual Crime Statistical Reports for the department. Analyzes and completes ad hoc requests for the Planning and Research Bureau and Patrol Bureau. Conducts analysis and report qualitative and quantitative data in order to track and monitor issues identified by the Planning and Research Bureau and Patrol Bureau. Assists with the departmental CompStat program. Develops and manages databases, data system integrity and security, electronic spreadsheets, desktop publishing, word processing and statistical applications. Manages background research on assigned topics as requested by senior staff. Reviews and evaluates department performance management indicators and metrics to provide critical analysis and recommendations. Oversees the Crime Analysis Unit and coordinates with the Crime Analysis Manager to provide oversight and assure timely response to requests for reports, data and information. Supports special committees, commissions, and panels. Fulfills BOS, executive, and other requests for analysis and support for investigations.
