The GISD Instructor for Mechatronics is responsible for leading the instructional program and implementing activities for high school students working toward careers in mechatronics or a related field. The state of the art Mechatronics Lab includes Amatrol trainers to teach electronics, robotics, equipment controls and sensors, programming, hydraulic, pneumatics, and 3D design. The teacher must be willing to collaborate with colleagues and business professionals in the mechatronics field to provide work-based learning experiences in the areas listed above and maintain the standards expected of a recognized Career and Technical Education program. The instructor is also responsible for meeting the unique needs of the students assigned to the program and prepares students for careers in mechatronics or a related field. The instructor of the Mechatronics and Design Lab must be able to attend training specific to students earning industry certifications.
