The George Washington Masonic National Memorial seeks a Gift Shop Attendant to work weekdays and or weekends. This is a paid, part-time position to begin immediately. Gain experience in a museum setting while assisting customers, processing purchases, preparing orders for shipment, and responding to telephone and email inquiries. Additional duties include maintaining inventory, organizing the space, keeping a clean environment and ordering items.
The applicant should have customer service experience and be comfortable handling inquiries about orders and items. Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus, but not required. Qualified applicants will receive training for the software, how to create purchase orders and how to ship items. The Attendant should create a warm environment for the museum’s visitors and be comfortable working with a team of professional staff and tour guides.
You do not need to have prior knowledge of George Washington history or Freemasonry, but you may be interested to learn while at the Memorial. The George Washington Masonic National Memorial welcomes a variety of visitors from the U.S. and abroad. We are an active museum, lodge and event space. The Gift Shop Attendant would have the opportunity to learn about museum operations while contributing to the overall visitor experience.
You may have the opportunity to assist with evening events and train as a Tour Guide.
