About the role
Global Talent Link (GTL) is a startup company that aims to build a connected and collaborative learning community guided by iABC principles of International Perspectives, Ability, Benevolence and Courage. Global Talent Link strives to provide supplemental education custom-tailored to each students’ goals. Our team of interns comprises undergraduate and graduate students from top American universities with experience in mentorship, foreign culture studies, tutoring, and studying abroad. Collectively GTL is committed to broadening young learners’ perspectives and fostering their individual growth in a supportive community.
Role: We are looking for part-time interns to serve as tutors and mentors knowledgeable in STEM subjects for middle school and high school students attending school in China who wish to improve their academic proficiency. STEM subjects GTL is looking to incorporate include mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. This role is specifically for those who excel at working independently and guiding young students. Typical tasks involve:
- Having one-to-one sessions with students
- Building curriculum tailor-made to each student’s personal needs and goals
- Interviewing prospective students
- Creating student profiles that encompass students’ information
- Plan and facilitate sessions, workshops, and meetings with other employees
Compensation: Ranges from $150-$300 per month when working with one student. More details on compensation will be discussed during the onboarding process.
Qualifications: Successful candidates are both current and recent university graduates with experience in STEM fields. Experience in tutoring and mentorship is beneficial but not mandatory for this position. As a startup, passion to work within a collaborative environment for group projects as a community is imperative. Additionally, proficiency in foreign languages is not required but would greatly benefit an applicant’s candidacy.
