Overview:This position supervises and participates in the day-to-day management, operations, and administration of networks and server based systems. The incumbent plays a major role in the overall functional strategic planning; develops, coordinates, and oversees major networks or networked systems, and server projects requiring complex features and security requirements across multiple platforms with diverse technologies. #ITatIDAResponsibilities:Directs daily operational activities to ensure scheduling and work assignments are maintained, to include the coordination and prioritization of project manager and project leader initiatives. Coordinates, assigns and reviews the work of team members, estimates personnel needs and schedules, and reviews work progress.Supervises major architectural, design, and implementation efforts for IDA networks or servers at all classification levels. Ensures custom solutions are compatible with existing architectures, are well-documented and comply with complex security requirements, certifications and accreditation processes.Engineers, implements and administers new networks/systems or major enhancements to existing systems. Maintains and assesses the current viability and future sustainability considering system architectures and organizational objectives. Performs industry surveys and analyses as required to determine if a suitable commercial solution is possible or a custom solution is necessary. Leads or coordinates efforts to select, acquire, and implement both custom and commercial solutions/systems. Provides advanced subject matter expertise and guidance to ensure the appropriate security implementation, management controls, and connectivity with other IDA and non-IDA systems or networks. Identifies operational concerns and recommends solutions to improve operations. Participates in Configuration Control Board reviews of change management items that affect IDA IT computing environments.Assists the Systems Engineering and Operations (SEO) Supervisor in the annual operating budget; participation in the design and engineering of disaster recovery site operations, and authorization of Change Management requests in the absence of the SEO Supervisor.Keeps current on new technology, industry developments, and the tools used by EITO through formal training or independent study.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field coupled with eight years of progressively responsible and complex IT work experience which includes at least six years of supervisory, technical leadership or related project management experience.High School Diploma coupled with twelve years of progressively responsible and complex IT work experience which includes at least six years of supervisory, technical leadership or related project management experience.Extensive experience in the design, development and implementation of IT systems.Extensive experience with the Windows operating systems and supporting multiple platforms in a networked environment.Experience with industry leading networks, server based systems, storage, virtualization, and voice technologies desired. Specific experience with Microsoft Servers, Cisco, EMC, CommVault, and VMWare a plus.Desired attributes: Self-motivation, excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570 IAT II certification, such as Security + within 6 months of hire.Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.  U.S. Citizenship is requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance is requiredEqual Opportunity Employer
