Maspeth Welding is pleased to announce the continuation of our Summer Internship Program. We are seeking highly motivated, energetic and talented individuals to join our team for the Summer of 2021. We are a premier Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication company based in Maspeth, NY and have built a team of seasoned Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Detailers, Surveyors and Installers to construct projects of all sizes throughout New York City. Our experienced staff in conjunction with the latest programming software, modern information systems and state-of-the-art equipment allows us to offer a level of excellence that is unsurpassed in the industry. Our clientele includes some of New York’s largest and high-profile owners and developers. Our work can be found at locations as largely visited as Rockefeller Center, Hudson Yards, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The High Line, South Street Seaport, various Fifth Avenue Flagship retailers such as Armani, Bvlgari, Cartier and Channel, as well as major transportation hubs such as the Oculus, Port Authority, LaGuardia and JFK Airports. This year’s Summer Internship Program will include full exposure to all phases of our line of work. Participants will be involved in projects at various phases and will have the opportunity to follow a project from beginning to end. Participants will have the opportunity to see both front and back end operations with direct contact and communication to our teams and clients, first hand experience within our fabrication facilities as well as active construction sites. This is a great opportunity to develop professional, communication, collaborative and organizational skills and gain exposure to the construction and manufacturing industries. Internship candidates should be responsible, reliable, punctual and ready to jump into a fast-paced and very dynamic work environment. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, a fine attention to detail, strong communications skills, ambition and willingness to learn. Applicant Requirements:-Background in Architecture or Engineering-Strong knowledge of computers and software with excellent PC proficiency.-Ability to read construction documents & blueprints.-Min. Typing Speed: 40wpm-Not Required but a plus: Autocad, Tekla, Autodesk Advanced Steel, Revit, MS Project This is a paid internship, with flexibility for full or part-time participation.
