Den of Geek is seeking a Design/Multimedia Intern to join the company. This person will primarily provide design and content production support by collaborating with our editorial, design, and social media teams.The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, enthusiastic about and fluent in all major social media platforms, and all things entertainment. We’re looking for a self-starter with excellent creative vision and communication skills. A passion for and knowledge of pop culture like TV, movies, comics, video games, and other forms of entertainment is a must. While our office is located in New York, you may work remotely.Timeline/Hourly Rate: The Design/Multimedia Intern position would be a part-time (15 hours/week) paid internship. The internship runs from approximately mid-January to mid-June with flexible start and end dates. Work hours are also flexible. Responsibilities include:Production and design of Google Web Stories project.Creating visual content across all Den of Geek platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.Read and watch Den of Geek content and find creative ways to adapt stories and videos to social media platforms.Share insights, and pitch post/video ideas. Requirements:Understanding of social platforms, and why content on those platforms become popular.Intermediate skill in copywriting.Ability to give feedback that helps to optimize content based on insights and analytics.Knowledge of Microsoft Office essentials (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite equivalents (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign). Previous social media experience and/or editorial experience and familiarity with social media scheduling tools, familiarity with Photoshop and content management systems. To apply:Send an email to Chris Longo, Deputy Editor (clongo@denofgeek.com) and Jessica Koynock, Art Director (jkoynock@denofgeek.com).Please attach a resume, portfolio, and a cover letter with ideas on how you can help improve the creative direction of Den of Geek.
