MD Energy Advisors is a small, rapidly growing energy management company serving some of the area’s largest businesses including real estate owners, restaurants, and manufacturers. We provide energy consulting services for approximately 100 million square feet of property in the Mid-Atlantic from our offices in the Harbor East neighborhood of Downtown Baltimore. We are looking for a Database Intern to work closely with our Business Analyst. This internship has an analytical focus and will involve reviewing, entering, and summarizing data which will be used for communicating information internally and externally. The intern will also assist the Business Analyst with building and maintaining marketing databases.This is a part-time internship. The Database Intern will have the flexibility to work a twenty (20) hour per week schedule between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. The actual work schedule will be based upon the intern’s availability to work during hours of business operations.INTERNSHIP OVERVIEWThe Database Intern will assist the Business Analyst with a database building project and will be introduced to the CPACE Financing and Procurement areas of MD Energy Advisors. This internship has an analytical focus and will involve reviewing, entering, and summarizing data which will be used for communicating information internally and externally. The intern will also assist the Business Analyst with building and maintaining marketing databases.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESUtilize proprietary and non-proprietary systems to assist with building new databases for marketing and business developmentAssist with market research and collecting pertinent information for the Maryland Energy Advisor’s leadership team to review and use for decision making and deployment of marketing strategiesDevelop knowledge of MD Energy Advisors’ core lines of business and assist with developing ideas and solutions for department and organizational initiativesAssist with special ad-hoc projects and tasks as neededKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Ability to work with a level of independence and minimal supervision Self-starter with a high level of initiative, drive, innovation, and creativityIntellectual curiosity and interest in learning Energy IndustryAbility to work well in a fast paced environmentStrong technical skills. High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (i.e., index matching and conditional formatting)Experience with Salesforce is a plus.EDUCATION REQUIREDMust be a current student attending a college/university with a major in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or an Energy related field.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment.
