NPR’s Summer 2021 Internship Program will be fully remote. Program Duration: June 1 – August 20, 2021We at the Service Desk provide and support the computer and mobile equipment that NPR staff rely on. We manage the organization’s computers and collaborate with other teams to ensure they are operational for NPR broadcasts. The NPR IT Service Desk intern will work as part of the IT Operations team to support technology and NPR staff. The internship will focus on resolving issues with applications, hardware, accounts, and connectivity in an enterprise IT environment as well as helping with reporting and projects.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide telephone, chat, email support for staffDiagnose issues with computer, mobile, and peripheral hardwareDiagnose issues with network connectivity over ethernet, wireless, and VPNTroubleshoot applications on PC, Mac, mobileManage accounts for mail, telecom, and access controlsMonitor, triage, and take ownership of support incidentsAssist in building PCs, installing applications, testing, maintaining, and supporting PCs, mobile devices, and peripheralsInstall and support desktop and networked printersRespond to service requests on production systems within guidelines determined by SLAsAssist with relevant IT and telecom projectsAddress system outages by following appropriate escalation pathPerform periodic audits of equipment, access, and accountsCorrespond with internal NPR clients and departmentsCreate knowledgebase articles for repeatable processesAdhere to Service Desk policies and proceduresAdhere to all company security and compliance standardsWHO CAN APPLY?LOCATION: Must be planning to work from the United States and authorized to work in the United States during the Summer 2021 internship dates. EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship. Progress toward degree or certification in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
