Summary of Role
The Security Intern will assist creating, updating, maintaining, documenting, security configuration and profiles in several major information systems used throughout the business. This role will be trained in security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures along with identifying and mitigating possible vulnerabilities throughout CROPP’s systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Investigate and respond to security incidents.
o Identify root cause of security incidents and provide mitigation.
o Develop and maintain user security profiles for CROPP’s major business systems.
o Provide continuous monitoring of CROPP’s security controls.
o Create and maintain documentation for security change control.
o Document and explain deviations from standard security profiles.
o Field, investigate and respond to requests and questions from all areas of the business related to security.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Participate in special projects throughout the business as assigned.
o Other duties as assigned by manager.
Desire to Learn, Skills, and Abilities
o Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required.
o Currently working towards degree in computer science, information security management is preferred.
o Incident handling and response.
o Vulnerability Management.
o Defense in Depth Principals.
o Wireshark and packet analysis.
o Client security configuration.
o Active Directory and Azure Active Directory domains.
o Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
o Identity and Access Management (IAM)
o Basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, Perl, etc.)
o Attention to detail is required.
o Must be willing to have work interrupted multiple times during a day to field urgent security requests and updates.
o Must have excellent customer service skills.
