About The Program:

The Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) is designed to prepare candidates for technical or engineering roles within our manufacturing facilities, while also exposing them to leadership training early on that will help accelerate their careers with many post program career paths available, including Plant Leadership roles. Manufacturing Leadership Program participants complete the entirety of the program at an Owens Corning manufacturing plant. During this time, participants will be mentored by seasoned technical, operations, and maintenance professionals. The program will have rotations in Technical, TPM, and Operations, with the availability of a cross-functional assignment at the end of the training per the candidate’s interests.

Duration: The program spans 24 to 30 months.

Rotations: Participants engage in rotations across various areas:

  • Technical (12 months): Involves process support, quality data analysis, and leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (6 months): Focuses on influential leadership through by guiding a cross- functional team to eliminate losses in the plant using TPM principles.
  • Operations (6 months): Focuses on front-line leadership with a customer-driven approach and people management.
  • Cross-Functional- Optional (6 months): Includes aspects like operations, maintenance, safety leadership, talent and union leadership based on personal interests and plant or division strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and analyze information to problem solve to optimize process.

  • Investigate to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Use expertise to enhance manufacturing processes, products, and cost efficiency.
  • Working effectively and cooperating with others to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Developing people leadership and enhance communication skills.

At the conclusion of the Manufacturing Leadership Program, you are placed in a full-time assignment as a Manufacturing Engineer or Technical Leader at a North American Owens Corning manufacturing plant.

What We’re Looking For:

Seeking an enthusiastic candidate who will take initiative to drive results, execute goals, and creatively navigate through tasks. Demonstrates a desire to develop technical and leadership capabilities, in a manufacturing environment, while furthering their career and long-term impact on Owens Corning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant major and/or field
  • Previous relevant internships/co-ops in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, or social organizations
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate (assistance provided)

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT:

Participants are based at various manufacturing sites in the US.
