Portland Public Schools and the Office of School Modernization are currently recruiting for multiple Project Manager II positions to help manage projects funded by the voter-approved 2020 Capital Improvement Bond.
The Project Manager II position may be used to: assist in the design and construction process for large scale capital bond projects; manage a series of related, smaller scale capital bond projects; or work as part of a team in managing mid-size capital bond projects. This position excels by understanding and practicing best project management procedures, business practices and industry standards. Existing knowledge of or ability to become fluent in industry-typical softwares and digital collaboration tools will be critical to effective project management. A desire to seek out creative solutions to combat institutional racism and promote a healthy multiplicity of perspective and lived experiences will be highly valued.
The Project Manager II position oversees contracts ranging in size from $75,000 – $5,000,000. Employees at this level may serve as lead over projects, contractors and district staff, and may monitor work assigned to Project Manager I level professionals within the same project team.
