Position OverviewSpectral MD, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Biomedical Engineering Intern with experience or exposure to medical devices and, or the medical imaging field. The intern will gain exciting real-world biomedical engineering experience at a thriving and rapidly expanding company. This candidate will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the design process- including, requirements development, component design, documentation, component and system level test and debugging – and as such must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high level of interest in details. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative; a socially intelligent individual with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.Primary Duties/Responsibilities• Work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional project team (internal and external) to achieve project deliverables.• Assist in the design of a Medical Imaging System.• Assist in the design and conduct system and component level engineering verification and validation testing.• Follow a design control process to provide inputs on all system level requirements and specifications.• Contribute to development tasks that include defining needs, requirements, and use-cases, as well as defining and tracing system and subsystem architecture, requirements, and testing.• Assist in identifying and documenting system hazards, failure modes, and risk mitigation.• Work with subsystem teams, domain subject matter experts, and suppliers in the assessment, selection, integration, and qualification of key components.• Support the preparation of proposals, project plans and estimates.• Other duties as assignedQualifications:Required Education and Experience:• Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited university.• Field of study in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.• Exposure/experience in medical devices and medical imaging field, preferred.Job Opening: Biomedical Engineering InternKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Ability to work as a highly motivated member of a cross-functional team• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in EnglishSpectral MD, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and participates in E-Verify.
