The Regulatory Compliance Engineer I is an entry level position that will learn to review, analyze, and evaluate engineering designs and specifications, operation and maintenance plans, Nutrient Management Plans (NMP), and other technical and scientific information required by the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) in support of Sewage Sludge Utilization Permit applications for compliance with State laws and regulations, and MDE procedures, policies, and guidelines to ensure the protection of public health and the environment. The incumbent will also learn to prepare Sewage Sludge Utilization Permits.
The duties and responsibilities of the position may involve exposure to hazardous conditions and sewage sludge utilization activities. This position requires the use of protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes, helmet, mask, and gloves during site inspections.
The incumbent in this position will be required to drive a State vehicle. If you maintain an out-of-state driving license, you must provide a certified copy of your driving record for the appropriate Motor Vehicle Administration at the time of appointment. Individuals must maintain a driver’s license with no more than 5 points on their driving record in order to drive State vehicle.
