This Civil Engineer position is in the Structures/Hydraulics Section at the Vermont Agency of Transportation. The primary function of Structures is the development and design of project plans, specifications, and estimates for projects that focus on bridges/pipes/retaining walls and much more across the state. This position will be working on the development of 3D Engineering models, using roadway and bridge design software to develop 3D Engineered Models and plans for our projects. The ideal candidate should have an interest in foundations, roadway, traffic, and structural bridge design, cost estimating, strong computer design and 3D modeling skills, the ability to work on multiple projects at a given time, and strong communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in any field of engineering AND EITHER one (1) year or more of professional civil engineering work OR one (1) year or more of technical experience performing engineering support tasks involved in the planning, surveying, design, inspection, construction, research and statistics, testing, investigation, and maintenance of various types of civil engineering projects or operations.

OR

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).

OR

College senior in the final semester majoring in civil engineering.
