Information Technology Intern

Position Summary:
The Foundation is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join a 10-week full-time summer program. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of information technology, contributing to the overall success of our organization. This internship will provide exposure to a wide range of IT functions, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios.
Position Description:
Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:
Technical Support:
- Assist end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and application
IT Project Support:
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Provide status updates and reports on project progress.
System Administration:
- Contribute to the administration of servers, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
- Assist in routine system backups and recovery procedures.
- Work with senior IT staff to implement system upgrades and patches.
Software Development:
- Collaborate with the development team on coding, testing, and debugging software applications.
- Learn and apply best practices in software development methodologies.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation for software projects.
Network Administration:
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure network security and optimal performance.
- Participate in the implementation of network upgrades and enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.
- Basic understanding of IT concepts, systems, and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Mellon is committed to providing compensation that is competitive and equitable within the philanthropic sector. The estimated salary range for this role is $27.00 – $30.00 per hour. The amount of pay offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to qualifications, unique skills, credentials, or experience that is expected to impact the candidate’s contribution to the role. We will also consider market data as well as the Foundation’s internal pay equity framework.
