Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Biostatistician II to support the Division of Military Epidemiology and Population Sciences within the John P. Murtha Cancer Center Research Program (MCCRP) located at the Rockledge Office in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to MCCRP. US citizenship is required.The Biostatistician will be responsible for the processing and manipulation of research data from various resources; perform data analysis tasks including data quality evaluation and assurance, data query and recoding, and statistical analysis; help write scientific reports and papers as needed; and provide support in statistical analysis and computer programming. Responsibilities:Process and manipulate research data in data quality evaluation and assurance, data query and recoding, and statistical analysis, using computer programs.Provide expertise in SAS programming and other data/statistical programming to support data management and analysis for research projects and collaborations.Perform complex data consolidation and statistical/epidemiological analysis.Conduct literature review and result evaluation for research projects.Write progress reports and scientific papers for presentation and/or publication. Provide statistical support as needed.Other duties as assigned.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive experience using SAS programming language. Advanced knowledge and experience in data processing and manipulation; advanced knowledge and experience in using SAS statistical software to perform various data processing and analysis tasks; knowledge in biostatistics and epidemiologic study design; excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in using large medical records data and using other statistical and database management software packages such as SPSS, R, ACCESS is a plus.Minimum Education: Master’s degree required.Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.Work Environment: Set in an office environment.Background/Security: U.S. citizenship required; eligible to obtain and maintain a Tier III Investigation/ Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, addresses, education, and credentials, a criminal background check, drug screening, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check. Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
