Global Classrooms DC (GCDC) is UNA-NCA’s flagship education program. GCDC aims to educate and introduce those, particularly youth, in the Washington DC area on the United Nations. Program Analysts with GCDC will be responsible for creating and implementing evaluation systems for the program, including metrics to measure engagement from relevant stakeholders, including students, educators, and program volunteers.
Program Analysts gain experience working in a small, non-profit environment and exposure to a variety of different tasks, including research, program management and development, data analysis, and program evaluations related to GCDC’s mission of global education through Model United Nations. This position is ideal for those interested in non-profit management, program development, global education, and data analysis, and will provide hands-on experience as an integral member of the team. This position also allows program analysts to participate in a variety of professional development tools and seminars during their time.
- Support the Senior Global Education Manager with creating evaluation metrics, including curriculum, event, and conference surveys, such as for the Fall Model UN Training Conference at the Pan American Health Organization
- Write, research, and edit current GCDC evaluation systems (i.e. evaluation framework, data tracking system, etc.)
- Track and collect program evaluation data; conduct data analysis and create data visualizations
- Represent Global Classrooms at UNA-NCA, partner organizations, and other events in the DC area as they relate to global education and international affairs
- Research partnership, grant, and fundraising opportunities to expand the work of GCDC
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong planning and time-management skills
- Background or experience of program monitoring and evaluation
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Extensive research, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
- Experience in an office setting, handling day-to-day administrative tasks
- Customer service skills, especially via phone and email
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once
- Background or strong interest in international affairs and/or Model United Nations
*This position is unpaid, but volunteer hours or school credit is available.
