Valley Shepherd creamery is New jersey’s only sheep milk focused creamery producing over 40 products from sheep, goat and cow milk.
With products sold at many major food stores such as Whole Foods, Wegmans and Kings, Valley Shepherd is expanding.
The creamery is seeking a hands-on food centric graduate with no fear of cup filling machines and/or cheese vats.
We’ve had food science, bioengineers and agri engineers folks at this before but its all about the passion for handmade products.
The position will entail cheese making, affinage, yogurt making, new product development and exposure to the entire range of creamery operations.
candidate should be;
-Passionate about artisan cheese.
-Have mechanical ability to deal with cheese-making equipment.
-Be able to lift a 40Lb wheel.
-Agriculture, food engineering or science.
-Ready to move to NJ.

For over 20 years, Valley Shepherd Creamery has been crafting a variety of raw milk, cave aged cheeses that are sold at farmer markets, our own retail stores and by fine retailers such as Whole Foods and Wegmans.
Valley Shepherd also produces a variety of yogurts, butters and goat logs.
