It’s my first blog post!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Mounica and I am the Career Services Ambassador at the W. Scott Amey Career Services Center. I am a Graduate student in Telecommunications Engineering. I am from Vizag or the “City of Destiny” as we like to call it, India. I started Grad School in Fall 2015 so this Spring 2017 semester will be my last semester of study here at GW. The excitement of starting a new chapter in life and sadness that I’m finishing school is just kicking in!

If you had asked me when I joined Grad School if I would write microblogs as a Career Ambassador one day I would have had told you, you were crazy! But, after attending many workshops on polishing Resumes and Cover Letters I thought I was ‘Career Ambassador’ ready. For instance, I walked into Courtney’s office confidently thinking that my resume is all polished and application-ready. Alas! It took me about five more appointments and many more hours of extra work to bring it to the state my resume is in today.

I should say I am truly fortunate to work with such an amazing team Chalvonna, Courtney, Grace and Alex and I look forward to continue learning amazing things from each and every one of them. I am immensely delighted to have gotten this opportunity to share with you all what resources the Career Services has to offer. I also hope you would like the future content on this website.

Also, feel free to drop in to our office, SEH Suite 2730 and bombard us with all your career related questions!
