Land & Resource Management Intern
Project Name: Land Records Research and Translation to GIS
Project Duration: 3months
Paid Internship: The pay rate for this internship is commensurate with the candidate’s years of schooling and major. The pay scale is between $15 – $26 per hour.
Requirements:
Land & Resource Management degree preferred
Coursework Prerequisites: GIS, Real Estate Law, Land Surveying, Cartography, Land Use Planning, Mining Law
Location: Eufaula, Alabama with frequent travel to plant sites
PROJECT SCOPE:
Reconciliation and corrections to our existing data for use in “Project Atlas”. Project Atlas is a centralized, authoritative GIS platform intended for use across Imery’s organization. This will provide a common, shared platform for planning, analysis, decision-making, reporting, monitoring, and management.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & DELIVERABLES:
Research of in-house lease and deed records to scan and catalog in our database.
Plotting of Public Land Survey System (PLSS), and metes and bounds land descriptions, for translation to GIS.
The selected candidate would assist Land Management, site personnel & external contractor(s) to establish and maintain data and keep the project on track.
PROJECT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Learning opportunities include GIS (desktop, online, and mobile apps), increased knowledge about geologic formations throughout North America, mineral types and uses, organization skills, familiarization with land management documentation and required items, and communication/interaction across multiple functional groups.
