Summary
SRP, the nation’s third-largest public power and water utility, is seeking a graduate student intern for its Federal Affairs Internship program at its Washington, D.C. office. The Washington, D.C. office represents SRP at the federal level and advocates on a wide array of issues important to SRP and its customers and shareholders.
Internship Program Start and End Dates:
- Start Date: May 2024
- End Date: August 2024
What You’ll Do
- Conduct open source research
- Monitor media stories
- Produce written summaries and reports
- Assist with event planning and support
- Assist with administrative support and other office duties
What It Takes To Succeed
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- Enrolled in at least junior or senior year of undergraduate studies.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is a plus.
- Familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Photoshop knowledge is a plus
- Interest in learning about energy, water, and environmental issues.
- Highly motivated and results oriented with a desire to exceed expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and quick learner.
- Ability to work independently in office setting.
Schedule/Pay Structure/Internship Eligibility:
- Approximately 30 hours / 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday.
- Pay rate is $18.75 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $20.80 per hour for a graduate intern.
- To be eligible for the Student Intern Program at SRP, the employee must be actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours that are college level (100) or above over the course of a regular semester and must be working towards a degree from an accredited college or university.
- For an accelerated program, the student must be enrolled in six credit hours in the equivalent of a traditional semester.
Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
