EWMA, a premier regional environmental consulting and remediation firm, is seeking motivated environmental science students to join our expanding team at our headquarters office in Parsippany, NJ. This internship Program is focused on training students to join the environmental consulting field after graduation. It also includes elements of basic office training. Candidates must be working toward a BS degree in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
Learning Goals:
- Learn elements of the NJ Field Sampling Procedures Manual
- With senior oversight, learn some basic aspects of field work for commercial and industrial projects
- Perform aspects of the implementation of project work plans including basic sample collection of soil, groundwater, and vapor media
- Learn to prepare technically accurate, complete and concise field notes and soil boring logs
- Learn to evaluate site needs based on review of existing data
- Learn to communicate with third party and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules and compliance issues
- Learn elements of adherence to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment
Requirements:
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills, the internship program will focus on learning to independently prepare a complete deliverable report with a focus on QA/QC
- Excellent communication skills are a must and mechanical aptitude is a plus
