About the Company:
Luke’s Wings is a 501(c) military nonprofit that provides complimentary airfare to wounded, ill and injured service members, veterans and their loved ones during recovery and rehabilitation. Luke’s Wings was founded in 2008 and has provided over 14,000 flights since its inception. In 2021, we provided over 1,600 flights reuniting families during hospital recovery. The impact of having friends and family nearby lifts morale and plays a vital role in the recovery process. As an intern at Luke’s Wings, you will play a direct role in helping Luke’s Wings raise money (donations) from marketing efforts, TV commercials, social media outreach etc.
About the Role:
– This marketing and media intern will be involved in a variety of aspects of marketing, communications, and media outreach
– Assist in the creation of social content across all platforms
– Utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging
– Learn about email marketing and assist in email and mail campaigns
– Pitch Luke’s Wings mission to local and national news stations
– Work with Luke’s Wings internal marketing team and learn various business development, marketing, and consumer behavior strategies to grow Luke’s Wings
Desired qualifications
– Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and deliver results with minimal supervision
– Excellent communication skills, time management skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
– Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
– The ideal person for this role has a passion for nonprofit work and community building
